I must confess. I have a little trick up my sleeve. I am a passionate crafter.

Besides a passion for language, primary school also sparked my interest in yarn crafts, back when girls learned to sew and boys learned woodwork.

Since then, I have been making crochet items following Dutch and English patterns. I regularly post about my WIPs and makes on Instagram, and have written a few humble patterns myself. One was even part of the Hobbycraft Granny Square Blanket CAL in 2021!

Needless to say, crochet jargon has no secrets for me. I consume the blogs, podcasts, patterns and tutorials daily. I find that patterns are at their most enjoyable when they are written in a clear, unambiguous language, which is also how I approach all my translation work.
