Hi! I'm Catherine.

Spelling tests in primary school are what sparked my passion for language. First for my mother tongue Flemish, then for French and English.

Opting for Ancient Greek, Latin and Modern Languages in secondary school, I was always going to choose a career in languages. As part of my MA in Applied Linguistics, I added Spanish to my bow, I got my first taste of subtitling while working on my dissertation, and I haven't looked back.

23 years and 1,000,000 subtitles later, I am still as passionate!

My work has appeared on Belgium's top TV channels VRT and VTM, on the UK's Channel 4 (Walter Presents) and BBC, and on big screens from your local cinema to international film festivals and award competitions. In the past, my subtitling has among others helped a Belgian entertainment show win an International Emmy, and most recently I had a hand in the Dutch short film 'I am Not A Robot' winning Best Live Action Short Film at the Oscars.

I have also translated marketing material related to media projects, ranging from press releases to bios, trailers, scripts, synopses, voice-over narration and pitch decks, helping media producers' creations shine on the world stage.

Agency clients have also entrusted me with thousands of hours of corporate video material for some of Belgium's top companies in the fields of banking, energy, pharmaceutics, education, food and beverage, and sports, among others. I help them reach a wider audience through their websites, YouTube channels, social media, presentations and corporate events.
