Hi! I'm Catherine.

Spelling tests in primary school are what sparked my passion for languages. First for my mother tongue Flemish, then for French and English.

Opting for Ancient Greek, Latin and Modern Languages in secondary school, I was always going to choose a career in languages. As part of my MA in Applied Linguistics, I added Spanish to my bow. It is there, while working on my dissertation, that I got my first taste of subtitling, and I never looked back.

23 years and 1,000,000 subtitles later, I am still as passionate!

My work has appeared on Belgium's top TV channels VRT and VTM, on the UK's Channel 4 (Walter Presents) and BBC, on Amazon Prime's streaming service and on big screens in your local cinema and at international film festivals. My subtitling has also helped many Belgian and Dutch productions win international prizes. Most recently, I had a hand in the Dutch short film 'I am Not A Robot' winning Best Live Action Short Film at the 2025 Oscars.

Off the screen, I translate marketing material related to media projects, ranging from press releases to bios, social media posts, scripts, synopses, voice-over narration and pitch decks.

In addition, agency clients have entrusted me with thousands of hours of corporate video material for some of Belgium's top companies in the fields of banking, energy, pharmaceutics, education, food and beverage, and sports, among others. I help them reach a wider audience through their websites, YouTube channels, social media, presentations and corporate events.
